Kathy's Poem
Waiting in the rain for your line to be free I thought time was the awesome distance, eternity, the wait between those awful buzzes. I hammered frantically on that deaf machinery. It was only doing its job, keeping us apart. But now, eternity is just how long I need you. Time is like a long slow freight train, an open bridge, a wheel turning, a milestone passed, a journey continued- Perhaps this life is like a turning wheel being drawn back, hand over hand, by a Creator-Destroyer: perhaps Christ only came because He already knew just how lonely our journey could be.
